Jamison Watts, Executive Director

Jamison is responsible for providing strategic vision and leadership in the execution of MALT’s mission and overseeing all organizational functions, including land protection and stewardship, fundraising, operations, communications, strategic relations and financial management. He joined MALT in 2013 and has worked in natural resources management, land conservation and business development for nearly 20 years. Prior to joining MALT, Jamison served as the executive director of the Northern California Regional Land Trust and as a wildlife biologist and environmental consultant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology with an emphasis in conservation biology from the University of California at Davis and a master’s degree in biological sciences from California State University at Chico.

Ray Fort, Director of Operations

Ray joined the MALT team in December of 2016. As Director of Operations, he oversees all day-to-day business for MALT including Finance, HR, Facilities and IT, in order to facilitate MALT’s conservation efforts. Before coming to MALT, Ray provided management consulting services to many successful nonprofits. As COO of Larkin Street Youth Services, Ray helped at-risk youth find pathways to get off the streets of San Francisco. Ray also served as Controller of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Wellington, New Zealand. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University.


Jeff Stump, Director of Conservation

Jeff directs all aspects of land protection, stewardship, and state and federal government relations for MALT. He joined MALT in 2006 as the Easement Program Director and has worked in land conservation and policy at the local, state and national level for more than 20 years. Prior to joining MALT, Jeff served as the vice president and director of coastal programs for the American Land Conservancy and legislative coordinator for the California Coastal Commission. He holds a Bachelor of Science in environmental policy analysis and planning from the University of California at Davis.


Willa Antczak, Associate Director of Development

Willa joined MALT in 2015. She oversees development operations and administration, planned giving, and MALT’s Annual Fund. Most recently, Willa worked as the Membership and Development Manager for the Cape Elizabeth Land Trust. Prior to that, she was the Planning and Development Director for the Town of Waldoboro in mid-coast Maine. Willa holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and a master’s of urban planning from McGill University.


Linda Appling, Development Associate

Linda joined the MALT team in March 2016. Her responsibilities include managing the donor database and membership program, gift entry and event registration. Linda’s prior experience includes seven years with Guide Dogs for the Blind and one year with Nepal Youth Foundation. She holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Santa Monica College.


Tristan Conway, Outreach Associate & Volunteer Coordinator

Tristan works alongside our Senior Outreach Manger and coordinates our dedicated team of volunteers. Prior to joining MALT in 2016, Tristan worked for Ocean Riders of Marin as a program developer and community outreach coordinator.  She has also worked in the field of specialty veterinary medicine and for the USDA Agriculture Research Service.  Tristan graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Agriculture Science.


Michelle Cooper, Stewardship Manager

Michelle joined MALT in 2013 and manages MALT’s stewardship program. She also represents MALT in local and regional organizations, activities and projects related to land stewardship and conservation planning. She serves on the Board of Directors for the California Native Grassland Association. Prior to joining MALT, she served as land steward at the University of California-Bodega Marine Reserve where she managed invasive species and conducted grassland restoration research projects and natural resource monitoring.  She earned a bachelor’s in botany from the University of Washington and a master’s in biology from Sonoma State University.


Linda Fissori, Annual Fund Associate

Linda joined MALT in 2015, managing MALT’s direct mail and online fundraising campaigns and supporting donor stewardship. Prior to joining MALT, Linda was a fundraiser with the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter, the Corielle Institute for Medical Research, and the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mills College, and served as president of the alumnae association as a trustee to the college.


Christine Harvey, Database Manager

Christine joined MALT in 2008 and is responsible for managing membership databases and preparing reports and analyses on all aspects of membership and development. Prior to joining MALT she served as the database manager for the Marin Community Health Foundation, which raised money for both Marin General Hospital and Novato Community Hospital. Christine holds an associate’s degree in social science from the College of Marin and a bachelor’s in creative writing from San Francisco State University.


Colleen Hogan, Office Manager

Colleen joined MALT as office manager in 2014. Her responsibilities include maintaining the MALT facility, assisting with recruiting and other human resources functions, providing executive support to the executive director and MALT Board of Directors, and general office management. Colleen has over 25 years of operations experience including 16 years as director of administration and coaching operations for E-Myth Worldwide, a small business training organization. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Whittier College


Jim Jensen, Stewardship Project Manager

Jim joined MALT in 2013 and is responsible for assisting landowners in a variety of conservation programs and projects. He assists in the monitoring of agricultural conservation easements, developing weed management plans, GIS mapping, and training stewardship volunteers. He continues to work on his family’s 6th generation sheep and dairy ranch in Tomales. Prior to joining MALT, he served as a supervisory forestry technician in Wildland Fire Management for the National Park Service and as a certified arborist for Western Environmental Consultants. He holds a bachelor’s in forestry and natural resources and a minor in rangeland resources management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.


Robin Livingston, Communications Associate

Robin joined the MALT team in 2016. Robin produces digital communications, including eNews, web stories and social media. Before coming to MALT, Robin provided creative services for nonprofits, artists and other local and international organizations. He holds a certificate in Digital Arts from SAE Expression College. He can also be found playing and recording music in and around the Bay Area.


Zach Mendes, Stewardship Project Manager

Zach joined MALT in 2014 to assist landowners with conservation programs and projects, monitor existing easements and evaluate prospective easements. Prior to joining MALT, Zach was the land projects and stewardship coordinator for the Northern California Regional Land Trust. He comes from a dairy farming family in the northern Sacramento Valley and holds a bachelor’s in urban studies and planning from the University of California, San Diego.


Denise Rocco-Zilber, Senior Outreach Manager

Denise joined MALT in 2012 and manages MALT’s Hikes, Tours & Tastings program, major fundraising events and the volunteer program. Prior to working with MALT she had produced and designed events set in unique West Marin locations utilizing only local foods, sustainable businesses and resources. Before her career in event production, Denise was a professional environmental photographer reporting stories from over 15 countries. She holds a BFA in documentary photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.

Eric joined MALT in April of 2016. He assists in monitoring existing conservation easements, helps evaluate future agriculture conservation easements, and facilitates best management practices on MALT’s working landscapes. Prior to joining the MALT team, Eric worked with the City of Fort Collins (Colo.) Natural Areas Department and for the South Yuba River Citizens League in Nevada City, Calif. Eric holds a master’s degree in Conservation Leadership from Colorado State University, where his thesis research consisted of creating a management plan for a 22,000-acre private protected area in southern Belize.

Stephanie joined MALT in 2013 and supports the acquisition of agricultural conservation easements. Prior to coming to MALT, she interned at the Upper Valley Land Trust, and worked as an energy, environment, and business journalist in Las Vegas. Stephanie grew up in a farming family in Central California. She holds a J.D. and a master’s in environmental law and policy, cum laude and magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School.


Christine Walker, Development Officer

Christine joined MALT in 2015 and steers our fundraising campaigns, coordinating with donors, foundations, board, staff and community members. She has 15 years of experience in non-profit outreach and administration, working with arts and environmental organizations like the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco. Christine has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.


Lisa Whitaker, Accounting Manager

Lisa joined MALT in 2014 and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting tasks for the organization as well as supporting the Director of Finance with reporting, organization, programs and budgets. Prior to joining MALT, she worked in environmental consulting. She was a founding partner in two environmental drilling firms, where her accounting skills were honed by maintaining financial control of rapidly-growing businesses. Lisa holds a bachelor’s in geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
